| Dear Blankhelp Team, I have my favorite TV shows. I often check the TV guide to make sure I can even catch repeats. However, it seems that one of my favorite TV shows has really declined. It's a woman's talk show, which has one host that has taken control of it as her own personal political platform. The show was good before she started spewing her hate for anyone that doesn't agree with her. No one wants to talk with a venomous mean spirited TV host. I now look through the TV guide to find what shows were repeats before this hateful host took over. What can I do? I dislike the direction of my favorite show, and talking with my friends, they too are upset. Can we make a difference? Thank you, TV Fan |

| Dear TV Fan, We all have our favorite TV shows. Most of us are too busy to watch TV all the time, so using a TV guide is important to try and not miss our shows. Also, catch ones we have missed, by finding repeat shows. OK, in the past, we all heard "stop watching" if we didn't like a show. That works, we get instant satisfaction not subjecting ourselves to a bad TV show. This is kind of different. If we understand which TV show you are talking about, hints: woman's show, went down hill recently in quality, and one loud mouth hate spewing host dominating the other female hosts, etc. We only have to turn on the news and see the latest thing she said that made it to the national news, The US bombed the Twin Towers, the UK planted sailors in Iranian waters for the Bay of Tonkin act, etc, etc. Many here are glad they don't watch that show. OK, a true fan who feels they can help, should. Start writing letters to those who benefit from that show airing. TV channels, the TV show, TV guides, TV stars, etc. Tell them all the same thing, meaning keep a common theme. If you create enough buzz, they all might be talking together about your letter, and waking up to your dislike of the direction of the TV show. However, if you are really disgusted by the TV show allowing a disgusting, hateful host on, then it is your right to contact the sponsors, put together a list of commercials aired during the offensive show, and contact them. Tell them you will no longer support them by buying their products, as long as they support a show you find offensive. You are just trying to make a positive difference, especially if the show is truly bad, and you and your friends are a part of the audience they are trying to reach. Get your friends to write letters too. Good luck, you might be surprised what you can do just identifying the problems to those in charge. The BlankHelp Team |
