Our Advice and Answer: |
Dear Mary,
Quick tips for seasoning a cast iron skillet, OK. Well we can assume that you know how to season a cast iron skillet, since you didn't ask how.
First, be-careful. The seasoning of a cast iron skillet requires heat, and if you are not careful, could result in burns.
Second, start with a very clean skillet. It should be washed and rinsed of all soap.
Third, once you season a cast iron skillet don't use dish soap to wash it. You will remove the seasoning, and your skillet could start rusting too.
So there are some quick tips for seasoning a cast iron skillet. A well seasoned skillet is an excellent tool for some fine cooking. Enjoy.
