Our Advice and Answer: |
Dear Margaret,
We understand your concerns about saving for your children's college tuition. Since you wanted to focus on ways to gain more money to saving for college tuition, rather than how to save, we'll limit our response to such.
Now lets get down to your question.
- Your goal is to gain more money to save for your children's college tuition. - You don't want another job. Good choice, regardless of how much money you have, being there and teaching your children to be good adults, is way more important. - You want it simple.
OK after putting our heads together we came up with one solution. Upromise. Upromise is a company that work with product vendors and tries to get rebates for it's members. These rebates can then be directed into many 529 college saving plans they have via networking with mutual fund companies. We found this to be 1. Simple (sign up, register your credit cards) 2. Unrestrictive (just keep your normal buying habits) 3. Transparent (You have no rebate forms to fill out).
True story, one team member has put away several hundred dollars for his toddler's education, just signing up a few years ago. It seems that many everyday products have unknown rebates that really can help saving extra money towards college. Tuition, books, etc, can be a challenge for the average family. So in our humble options, we feel that Upromise offers a service no parent can live without, financially. ;)
Hope we addressed your college tuition savings question. We have more college savings answers, just fell free to ask them.
